Birthday Freebies + LUMEE LED Light Up Selfie Phone Case Giveaway!

Hey, y'all! 

So, as we all know (or I hope a good majority knows): my birthday is July 4! But, I like to celebrate the entire month (and occasionally the following month) with birthday treats. I get overly excited when people send me birthday wishes, little gifts, or even just acknowledge the fact that it's my birthday-I get serious princess vibes when all of these things happen.

But, I also like to make my own self smile on my birthday! So, aside from buying myself a kick a** gift each year (this year, I bought myself a new couch lol)-I like to have little birthday freebies pop into my email inbox. They're like little birthday pick me up treats. Seriously, when you reach the end of this post (and discover the giveaway instructions), you'll realize how rewarding and uplifting it can be to open your email and see a treat that is just for you, and no one else.

I mean, who the heck doesn't like free stuff, especially on their birthday? Admit it, you know you've been out to dinner on your birthday and you attempt to casually tell your server that it's your birthday, in hopes that he/she will either bring out an aspiring band of restaurant servers to serenade you or they'll offer you a free desert (or even better: free wine).

So, to better help avoid that awkward mention of your birthday at dinner, sign up with certain companies' rewards programs or email subscription lists, and get the free stuff rolling!

I've compiled a list (and screenshots) of majority of the subscriptions that I sign up for each year to get my freebies! I first learned of this little secret back in June of 2013, just a month before my birthday. I came across a list of places that offer birthday freebies, but the article itself was old and the author said a lot of the subscription details probably needed updating. Have no fear, I took the chance and signed up so that I could see if many of these were still valid. Enjoy!

1. Starbucks Coffee

This one is well known. But, if you are a member of the Starbucks Rewards Program, you get a free birthday drink loaded to your Starbucks card a few days before your birthday. In the past, Starbucks would load the drink reward and it would be good for a few weeks. Now, the reward is only good on your birthday and three days following. This year I didn't know about this new 3-day rule, and I went to Starbucks to redeem it a week later. Luckily, the barista who rang me up gave me my drink on the house anyway! Thanks, girl! 

2.  Benihana (The Chef's Table)

Who doesn't love Benihana or hibachi? If you join Benihana's Chef's Table subscription/create a profile, you'll receive a $30 Birthday Certificate during your birthday month!  My girlfriend loves Benihana, and recently she told me that Benihana has changed their birthday rules a little bit. I think they're trying to ensure that everyone who signs up remains active before their birthday, and will send out little *tester* emails to see if you're paying attention. I didn't use The Chef's Table certificate this year, but I did last year, and it was enjoyable! The catch to it is that the certificate must be printed, and the certificate cannot be used on the weekend. Also, the discount can only be applied to certain menu items, so don't expect the full $30 to be applied to the entire bill. That's kind of where they get you, but I think it's still worth it. 

3. Krispy Kreme
I don't know about y'all, but I doNUT pass up the opportunity for a free donut. Ever. Especially on my birthday! So, the biggest gift that I think I deserve every year on my special day is a freaking donut. By simply joining Krispy Kreme's e-club, you're able to become one step closer to your birthday treat! Each year, I simply just grab a cup of coffee to go along with my donut and I think about things I need to do for the day. It definitely takes the stress of thinking about my to-do lists away. 

4. Sephora

This is my absolute favorite treat each year! By being apart of the Sephora Beauty Insider Club and entering your profile information-such as your birthday-they will send you a mini birthday gift a week before your birthday! This year it was an adorable Marc Jacobs Beauty mini set, and last year it was a pair of NARS lip crayons (I loved the colors so much that I bought the full size when I finally ran out of my birthday size). It's totally worth it. I was already a Beauty Insider (and yes, my impulsive makeup buying has put me at the VIB Rouge status) so I get the birthday email right on time each year! But for the not so serious make up lovers, this is a great gift to keep handy in your on the go makeup emergency bag. 

5. Texas De Brazil

Join Texas De Brazil's E-Club and get a complimentary dinner when another dinner is purchased. This is perfect for a post birthday dinner with your special someone. That way, you feel less guilty when you run his (or her)'s bill up by the end of the night ordering too much wine. ;) 

6. Tropical Smoothie
Basically if you want to balance out any excessive tequila or mimosas, and feel a tad bit healthier on your special day: Join Tropical Smoothie's Tropical Email Club and do just that! They'll send you a coupon for a free 24 oz smoothie and you'll be sipping on those greens and berries just moments later! It's also a great deal if you want to just avoid your juicer or blender for the day and not feel guilty for skipping out on making your daily smoothie/juice! The gym will understand. I promise.

7.  Lenny's Rewards
I love subs! And I love subs during my birthday week even more! To get a free 7.5 inch sub on the house from Lenny's, simple start by joining the Lenny's VIP Rewards Program. You'll not only get a free birthday sub, but you'll also get free food on other random days of the year, plus earn points. And I mean, why not? 

8.  Ulta
Alright. So, how many times have you ran out of the house to run errands, or to work, or anywhere at all that you thought you wouldn't need any makeup on, but then it turned out that you did? Well, birthday girl, here's a perfect on the go solution. I own plenty of eyeshadow palettes, but I can't just throw those in my bag and go. But, what can I throw and go? My mini midnight cowboy eyeshadow by Urban Decay, compliments of Ulta! I'm a member of their ULTAmate Rewards Program, and I just learned that I'm a "Platinum" member and I get an additional birthday gift! Enjoy! Hope this saves your eyelids when you run into every random human that you haven't seen in 10+ years just because you decided to run out of the house looking sloppy chic that day.


9.  Cinnabon 
 
I don't think I ever redeemed this birthday gift, but there are some serious Cinnabon lovers out there and this is for you if you are one! Hop on over to their website and join Club Cinnabon!  You'll get a free coffee drink or cinna-treat!

10.  Noodles & Company 

If you're like me, you went to a university in a city with a small b(ut active) downtown area with a random Noodles&Company thrown in the mix. I interned at a law firm one summer and Noodles&Co saved me a many of days during my quick office break runs. So, if you're like me, you'll join Noodles&Company's E-Club and be a better member of society when you fight your hANGER while working during your birthday week.

I actually took this selfie (at night time) with the Lumee case, and it came out pretty adorable, I must say!
