What better way to spend your 24th birthday than in Amsterdam, Netherlands?
I've been to Amsterdam plenty of times before, but this trip took the cake (pun intended), and it was one of the best trips to Amsterdam I've had.
This was actually a working trip. Meaning, I flew there on the clock, had a layover there- on the clock, and I flew back the day after my birthday-you guessed it, on the clock. But I mean, 24 hours on your 24th... is that really working? Heck, no. Also, nothing beats holiday pay when the holiday is your birthday! This was honestly one of the best birthdays I've ever had. July used to be my favorite month, but, due to life tragedies and the passing of someone I really loved in this month, it easily became a sad month for me. But this year, that all changed. I found happiness in July again, and I'm so determined to enjoy this month and celebrate the life of who I lost.

I lucked up and switched my reserve days for a trip to Amsterdam with another flight attendant. Usually around this holiday, most FA's aren't used on their reserve days, so it's almost like having a day off. I honestly think the FA who switched with me thought she wouldn't get used July 4, and I'm ok with that. Thanks to her, I had an amazing birthday. Thank you, girl!

I expected to celebrate my birthday with my crew members. They were all SO amazing, but the surprise I got was even better.
.....I ran into ten other people that I already knew from back home and from work! This was literally the best.
During this trip, we made it to the infamous Wynand Fockink bar! This was AMAZING. (Again, I only have videos). But this is one of the older and most popular bars (Proper Word: Tasting Room) in AMS, and you have to be extremely quiet in there. Ironic, I know. But it was a great experience! This place is basically full of distilled liquors and liquers, and they are the strongest liquids I have ever put in my body. I accredit a great amount of my buzz for that day on this bar.

Basically, this was an amazing trip, and an even better birthday! I wish I could've pictures with every other amazing crew member I met this day that were flying from other bases and laying over in AMS for that same day, but I was having too much fun at certain points to have my phone or camera out. However, and thankfully, there are PLENTY of videos that were recorded by me, and I absolutely cannot wait to edit those and get those on YouTube. Those will be up within the next two weeks.
I have to go back to Amsterdam this weekend for four days, so I won't be able to edit by then. But I'll happily photograph this upcoming Amsterdam trip, and get it out for you guys!
