Quick Concert OOTN

I live a pretty busy life. Balancing flying, grad school, personal life, and attempting to sleep doesn't always leave me time to run to the mall and grab something to wear for a last minute show. My solution for this time crunch? Just throwing together something quick and giving it simple accessories to make it pop as much as it can. Here's my quick look for the Maxwell concert the other night!

After working AH's flight. What a day!

I think I've talked about my awkward self and my strange luck before. Well, this time, it's little spin on my luck.
*Disclaimer: My hair had been in a half bun, so there is a ridiculous crease in it. The concert was also outside, after a thunderstorm, so my already HUGE hair.......became larger and frizzier than life. I still had a great time*

On the way back to my home base from Amsterdam, I was assigned to work the Business Class (first class international) of the plane. Normally, I avoid this position because I feel like time breezes by in the back in the main cabin, and there's so many more passengers to talk to in the back.

I realize that I just spoiled the excitement of this post, but read on for the fun details, and to read about my actual trip in Amsterdam as well! It's always a good time to fly with me, and hang out with me on layovers!

My ACTUAL Birthday

What better way to spend your 24th birthday than in Amsterdam, Netherlands?

I've been to Amsterdam plenty of times before, but this trip took the cake (pun intended), and it was one of the best trips to Amsterdam I've had. 

This was actually a working trip. Meaning, I flew there on the clock, had a layover there- on the clock, and I flew back the day after my birthday-you guessed it, on the clock. But I mean, 24 hours on your 24th... is that really working? Heck, no. Also, nothing beats holiday pay when the holiday is your birthday!  This was honestly one of the best birthdays I've ever had. July used to be my favorite month, but, due to life tragedies and the passing of someone I really loved in this month, it easily became a sad month for me. But this year, that all changed. I found happiness in July again, and I'm so determined to enjoy this month and celebrate the life of who I lost.

As a flight attendant, birthdays, important family events, life events, holidays, etc. are not always guaranteed off days. For me, I kind of assumed I wouldn't get the 4th of July off. Coincidentally, that is my birthday. So what was our solution to not having the exact day of? Celebrating early, of course. I know this is not always the case and many flight attendants do get really bummed out if they an't have holidays off. Granted, I am not a parent, so I am not missing my kids' life events, and my heart always goes out to those flight attendants who have to miss events such as those. But in my case, there is absolutely zero need to be sad about not having certain days off if you can make the best of it.

Sometimes I'm assigned a trip, and I start and finish it as planned. And sometimes, lately, I start a trip and it goes completely different than expected. These differences can be accredited to reroutes, delays, and irregular operations.
